My Small Bio

my Facebook status for the day: "I love my life for the most part. There is just one element missing. The career portion. I have worked on this area of my life for 16 years now. I just can't get a breakthrough! I am persevering and staying at it. I will find a job that I love (if God allows me enough time on this earth) My problem is that I do not hav...e a passion. I have several different interests. I don't know which dream to pursue most of the time"

now...a little about me:

I graduated high school in 1994. I had no desire to go to college. I was burned out with school and I needed a break. Back then, $10 an hour seemed like a lot of money. My goal was to find a job where I could make that amount. I did not want to move and the only jobs in my hometown that paid that kind of money was either warehouse jobs or construction jobs. I realized real quick that I did not want to break my back for a paycheck. My health is more important than money. I did not want to end up being 30 years old with a bad back and not able to spend time with my future children.

Somewhere around the time of 1999, I decided I want to help teenagers. I wanted to be a youth pastor or a youth counselor. I started going to college to study mental health courses with the focus on teenagers. That's when I discovered the possibility of working for CPS (Child Protection Services)....My instructor worked for them for many years and she was able to tell us what courses to take and what to expect once you are hired. After hearing all of the horror stories about these children, and my heart broke just by hearing it, I realized this field was not for me. She also told us that we would have to get a Master's degree to see any kind of money in the Social Work field. I was not prepared to spend that much time in school. Also, she said the turn around rate for social workers were high. The job takes an emotional toll on you and most people leave the field within 2-5 years.

PART TWO COMING LATER...I TRY TO KEEP MY BLOGS SHORT SO YOU DO NOT LOSE INTEREST.
