I read all kinds of business books. I am a fan of Seth Godin, Malcolm Gladwell and Gary Vaynerchuk.
All three of these authors provide valuable information. I love their perspective on things. Their information and knowledge are so powerful that this scenario should happen daily:
Job Interviewer: "What skills do you have that would qualify you for this job?"
Person applying for job: "Well, I read Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk."
Job Interviewer: "Okay! You are hired!"
WHAT IF several of the applicants read Crush It, how do you decide who to hire then?
Well, you see who has read the most business books and who has the most diversity in authors. You don't want the person who reads nothing but Seth Godin books, you want the person who has read several different authors!
HOW do you verify that the person actually read the books? You have the applicant provide as many book reports as possible or have him or her provide book summaries right there during the interview.
Well, that's what I would do if I was in charge of hiring people.
