Goals

I got this article from: http://ezinearticles.com/?Achievement---Write-Your-Goals-Down-to-Achieve-Success&id=2317635

It is a recognised fact that you stand a far better chance of achieving your goals if you write them down. You must commit your intentions to paper to know exactly what you are aiming for. This also forms a contract with yourself, and you are therefore much more likely to carry your goals through to completion.

How many times have you gone to the supermarket without a shopping list? I know that if I don't write a list, then I wander around quite aimlessly, trying to think of what I need to buy. I try to think of what my family might want for dinner. What are the chances of remembering to get all of the ingredients? What have we run out of, and what have we still got plenty of in the cupboards? Doing my shopping this way only ensures that I end up buying things that I have little need for, and I forget to get many of the basic items. This is not only totally unproductive, but it is also extremely time consuming!

Think of goals as being the groceries you need to purchase. It isn't sufficient to simply write down "vegetables" and "meat". Be specific. What kinds of vegetables do you need this week? How much do you need to buy? Are these available at this time of year? What about price - what is the maximum amount that you are willing to spend?

Although it takes a bit of planning, you will be far more likely to have a successful trip to the supermarket if you write down what you need! And this is the same for goals.

Just like a shopping list, write down exactly what you want to achieve.

How do you propose to achieve it?

How long will it take?

What sacrifices will you need to make to accomplish your goals?

Once you have the particulars of your goals down in black and white, it is so much simpler to then go out and achieve them!

NOTE FROM KENNETH WEINS: I also read somewhere before that if you want to be a millionaire, then write that down with your other goals.
